Drury, 34, pleaded guilty Monday to criminal harassment, assault, mischief under $5,000, breach of probation and breaching his bail conditions.
Court heard Drury’s wife told him in February she didn’t want any contact with him. He phoned her 40 to 50 times and accused her of cheating.
On Feb. 15, Drury went to his wife’s home and repeatedly kicked the front door until it came off the hinges.
Once inside he grabbed his wife’s clothing and kept asking, “Who are you cheating on me with?” and punched the wall.
Drury also broke her cellphone and then punched the door several times and pulled it off the hinges, court heard.
When police arrived his wife was “visibly shaken and crying,” said Crown attorney Jim Hughes.
Hiding in the shower of the apartment were two young children, “asking if it was safe to come out,” Hughes said.
“I just wish it had never happened … I thought she was cheating on me,” Drury told the court. “I love my children, I love my wife.”
After jail, Drury will be on probation for 18 months and must take counselling for anger management, partner-spousal violence and grief.
He must also provide a DNA sample and is banned from owning any weapons or firearms for 10 years.
