Being the person on the receiving end of infidelity is bad enough as it is but it can get worse. This is when the cheating spouse not only gives emotional pain to the faithful spouse but also a disease borne out of his/her infidelity. People who are sexually active involving several partners have the higher risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases or STD which can be easily passed on to the innocent spouse.
A good number of cheated spouses have found out about their partners' infidelity when they unexpectedly get diagnosed as having STD. There is no other logical answer to this surprise but a spouse's infidelity. For how can a strictly monogamous person get the disease other than through a spouse who decided to play around and got himself/herself exposed?
Cheating spouses generally do not have the intention of making their legal partners sick. In fact, it is a rarity to see cheating spouses willing to expose themselves to the risk. Acquiring the disease is a result of engaging in sexual activities with professional sex workers or with plainly promiscuous people. The more sexual partners a person has, the higher the probability of acquiring STD.
Getting STD and discovering a spouse's infidelity is a pain doubled literally and figuratively. A cheated spouse can feel hurt two times over when the cheater not only betrays him/her but also fails to consider his/her personal and physical well-being. Cheaters should be aware that they are unwillingly exposing their partners to risks which they never consented to.
