Infidelity Without Reason

Infidelity happens but not always for a reason. That is what makes it all the more hurtful for cheated spouses. They find it hard to comprehend how their cheating spouses could risk their marriage without having any reason at all.

The trouble with dealing with infidelity that cannot be explained by the cheater is that it is almost impossible to find a solution for a problem that cannot be recognized. It is much easier to attack a problem with a known cause rather than to grasp on possibilities that may have no basis at all. "Unprovoked" infidelity continues to beg for explanation even if it has long been over with and the relationship has supposedly moved on from the debacle.

Aggrieved spouses will always look back at the time of unexplained infidelity and wonder what made it happen. It can be hard to think of infidelity as something that just happens. Somewhere along the way, the real reasons lurk waiting for discovery.

When a cheated spouse claims that there is no reason for the cheating to happen, this means that he/she sees the relationship as good and stable. If the cheater views the relationship in the same way, then what prodded him/her to be unfaithful just the same? Maybe it was just taking advantage of an opportunity that was there for the taking. Even then, no one takes such an opportunity without underlying reasons.
