I'm sure most of us are familiar with how the women in the movie First Wives Club got their revenge on their unfaithful husbands. Spurned by their husbands for younger women, they go through the painful but comedic route towards getting even. Many women probably left the theater a little lighter in the heart having had the satisfaction of seeing the antagonist-husbands get what is due them.
Alas, real life is not as simple as a movie story. Many cheated wives (or husbands for that matter) will not live to see the day of reckoning come. Many cheaters will go scot-free for their mistakes and many cheated spouse will continue to suffer but all is not yet totally lost.
How does a cheated spouse exact revenge on a cheating spouse? If revenge is the goal, then the aim is to target where it would hurt the most. You are able to hurt a person the most in an area which he/she deems most important.
Striking therefore on finances makes a lot of sense for a cheater who places much importance on money. Creating a scandal could probably be the end of the world for cheaters who value their reputation very much. Whatever the cheated spouse chooses to do, let him/her not forget that this is real life. The pain that will result from any undertaken action is as real as can be. Are you prepared to hurt the one who hurt you? You need not do so.
