Testing Spousal Faithfulness

Some people will go to great lengths to determine just how faithful their spouses are to them. One particularly unorthodox way of testing spousal faithfulness is hiring or requesting somebody to seduce the unsuspecting partner. Spousal fidelity is obviously confirmed if the bait is rejected outright.

Once a doubting partner gets confirmation, reasonable peace of mind is achieved. This assurance may be short-lived for some as they continue to subject their partners to various tests. When this is the case, there is reason to believe that the doubting spouse has problems with insecurity which he/she should learn to resolve if permanent peace of mind is desired.

But what if the seduction test goes bad for the doubting spouse when the suspected cheater actually proves his/her capability for cheating? What is the next step to take? There are two main options available including direct confrontation and personal assessment of the status of the marriage.

The marriage needs to be assessed since there is a big possibility that there are uncovered issues in the relationship that makes the couple or one of them vulnerable to temptations of infidelity. Sometimes, there is no marriage problem, just an attitude or behavioral problem that produces the personality weakness. Spouses who are weak against temptation need to be constantly reminded and supported by their partners so that they will become stronger for the good of the marriage.
