As contained in the bible, among the Ten Commandments set forth is Commandment number 10: " Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's wife." Although largely observed by Christian people, the law makes good sense even among people of other religious denominations. Its underlying principle is to avoid desiring a woman who clearly belongs to another specifically by virtue of marriage.
Laws such as this aim to put into place specific standards of ethics and morality that is widely believed to contribute to social order. To covet is to have an inordinate desire to possess something or someone belonging to another. As such, it is often associated with greed and avarice.
People have the freedom to desire anyone subject to certain limitations. Desiring a married woman is obviously one of these. Among so many women all over the world, why would a man choose to center his attention on a woman committed to another? We all know that the moment anyone attempts to step on other people's spaces , trouble begins.
The man may have to seduce the married woman to cheat on her husband and leave him. He may have to provide the distractions needed to confuse a woman's priorities or play on her weaknesses or loneliness. He may have to do unexpected things to achieve his objective. If a man believes that a husband will just watch him take away his wife, he must be living in another world. Husbands have a natural tendency to defend their honor especially in matters pertaining to their wives.
It is a lot less complicated to desire available women but to some, no other woman will do.
